  1. If I want to do an anniversary party on the small terrace at ToT would a ride mix in be available or would I have to rent the ride? How would the timing for that work?

    1. That’s tricky because the mix-in has to be on the last ride of the park’s operating hours, but the event can’t usually start till 90 minutes or 2 hours after the park closes. I would still ask your event planner to check with the park about this, because maybe there’s a way they could push the mix-in back and the party up. Especially if you were willing to pay for a cocktail hour at another location between the ride and the party at TOT, so they had more time to set up the party. Otherwise, if you have the ~$10,000 to do a buyout, you could have the ride running throughout your event.

      1. Thank you! I’m not interested in paying $10,000 as ToT terrifies me 🙂 but I would love to try to do a mix in, where are cocktail hours allowed at HS?

        1. Anywhere you can have an event! DHS is a lot more flexible about its venues. You can work with your sales consultant and the park team to choose a location.

  2. Question, you mention in your guide that an in park Wedding reception requires transportation be on standby for the entire event. If we did the Tower of Terror terrace for 10 how many hours do we have to pay for a car? Does the car requirement also apply if we did a Wedding and reception together in say- Epcot?

    1. You need to keep transportation for as many hours as the event lasts or the minimum required number of hours for that type of transport, if it’s longer than your event. For example, a limo charter has a 3-hour minimum and a motor coach has a 5-hour minimum. The transportation requirement applies whenever you have a ceremony and/or a reception inside a theme park. The only time they don’t enforce it is if you do just a celebration (a2-hour event) inside the park.

      1. Thanks for the quick response. I finally heard back from Disney’s wedding team today. Your planning book was was way more detailed at explaining these things. I didn’t see the Tower of terror terrace being offered though. Is that not an option right now due to Covid or something?

        1. No, it’s just that you have to request to use it from the park events team. Your sales consultant can do that for you!

  3. Do you know the max capacity for booking Tower of Terror Terrace for a wedding reception after a courtyard wedding and the price to book it? It doesn’t come up in the brochure.

    1. If you have my Fairytale Weddings Guide, the capacity and pricing for Tower of Terror’s Large Terrace is on page 96. However, Disney will not book a full reception in the same spot as a ceremony, because they are still setting up for the reception during the ceremony. If you were just doing a cake and Champagne celebration, they might let you have it on the terrace after a wedding in the courtyard, since that can be set up prior to the ceremony.

      1. Hi Carrie!

Is this rule the same for cake and champagne celebrations, that they cant be in the same space as a reception? For example, a small ceremony in the courtyard and then a cake and champagne celebration in the same space?

        Thanks in advance

        1. Nope! If there’s room (and there is at Tower of Terror), you can totally do a cake and Champagne reception in the same spot as a ceremony. Those don’t require as much setup as a full reception, so there’s no break needed between ceremony and celebration.

  4. Hi Carrie, do all types of reception here have to start after park closure? Even the teeny tiny terrace?

    1. Yes, because they can’t start setting up until day guests clear that area. But if you were having a teeny tiny reception with very little to set up, they might need less time, which would move your start time forward a bit!
