  1. Hi Carrie! Thank you so much for all you do!
I was wondering if you had any ideas for a reception place with similar feels to Trader Sams, but available in the evenings? We’re going tiki, but would like to keep things later in the day. Does the Poly resort have any inside venues for a reception? Even a ballroom in the Poly? Thank you so much!

    1. Hi Jodi! The Polynesian has no conference facilities, unfortunately. Disney would happily sell/rent you everything you need to do a Tiki themed event in a ballroom at the Contemporary or elsewhere, but let me see if I can think of a place with a little built-in character…. If your group is small enough, you could do something outdoors at Luau Pointe on one of the evenings when there’s no Spirit of Aloha Luau. You can also rent out Luau Beach, if your group is bigger. This couple had their cocktail hour on Luau Beach. If you can do after-hours at Animal Kingdom, there are a lot of outdoor spots with tropical foliage that could easily be transformed into something Tiki-ish. If it has to be indoors, maybe Ariel’s? I think it still has the hanging fish chandeliers… Of course the best spot was Universe of Energy (R.I.P.)!

        1. For a ceremony? Disney doesn’t list it as one of the ceremony options, but my guess is that it would have the same pricing as Luau Beach. Your sales consultant would just need to get approval from the resort to use it. All the reception pricing for Trader Sam’s is on page 76 of the FairyTale Weddings Guide.

    1. It’s on page 76 of the guide: 40 people inside, 82 outside. But inside capacity goes down to 20 if the buffet is set up inside.

  2. Hi Carrie! I’ve been listening to your podcast non stop since engagement! Do you have an episode featuring this first couple I love their photos and I’d love to hear more about their day!

  3. Hi! I was looking through your book and couldn’t find an answer… But I was wondering if you knew if soft drinks or fountain soda came with the bar buyout package? Thank you!

    1. Hi! This is on page 107 of the guide: All alcoholic beverage packages also include soft drinks, juice and bottled water. So at Trader Sam’s they’d serve the fountain sodas.

  4. Can you do a cocktail hour here? If not where are the best places to have a cocktail hour on the monorail loop?

    1. As long as you meet the capacity maximum, food and beverage minimum, and event cut-off time, yes! All of those are listed on page 77.
