Carrie, can the umbrellas be taken down for events? I know the tables and chairs stay, but if we could remove the umbrellas, that would be a lot better, since it’ll be evening anyway.
Unfortunately, no—and many of us have tried to make this happen! However, the tables are off to the side—once you’re there, you realize they don’t block the view or anything. Everyone gravitates toward the railing to watch the show, and then the umbrellas are behind you!
Hi Carrie, I’m looking to hold a dessert party at UK Lochside and am wondering what the food and beverage minimum is there?
Hi Catriona! If you have my Fairytale Weddings Guide, it is listed on page 190: It’s $750!
Thanks! Also do you know what the venue rental fee is?
I don’t remember off the top of my head, but it is also listed on page 190!
Hi Carrie!
Quick question for you, we are looking to have our dessert party at Lochside, I have your latest guide, however there’s two different paragraphs on Lochside, one says that no sit down meals are allowed at that location, and the other talks about bringing in 7 additional chairs to allow 25 seats, we are hoping to have a meal during our dessert party, when you say no sit down meals, do you mean buffet style only? Could you clarify. Thank you!
Hi Jess! I will clarify this in the next update. All meals at this location are buffet style, but when you don’t have 100% seating, you can’t really serve anything that requires a knife and fork/seating to eat. It has to be stuff people can eat standing up. If your group was small enough to fit at the existing seating, they might let you have knife-and-fork food. But they haven’t been very willing to bring in those extra 7 seats in the last few years, because it reduces the space for the food setup.
I just got your book it’s amazing! In your opinion is the UK lochside or the rue de Paris better? Or what about the isloa west plaza? I am looking for the most intimate spot with the best view of fireworks that’s pretty. Thanks!!!
I’m so glad you like the book! UK Lochside has one of the very best views! You aren’t centered on the screens, but the show still looks amazing in photos. Rue de Paris has one of the worst views of the show. Italy Isola West has probably the best view (along with Italy Isola), but it is almost never available anymore due to festivals using it for the concert queue—there are only a few days per year when you can get it.
Hi! What is the max number of people for this venue?
Up to 50, but not everyone will get a seat. This information is on page 192 of the Fairytale Weddings Guide!
